Michael is originally from Pennsylvania, USA. He most recently worked as a consultant for the International Rescue Committee in New York, where he updated the procedures that IRC’s emergency response units follow during field deployments. He has also worked for the UK-based organization Help Refugees/Choose Love. He is currently a postgraduate at the University of Oxford, where his research focuses on human rights violations in border zones and LGBTQ-related asylum policies. Eventually, he plans on going to law school and working as an immigration and asylum advocate.
