Hans How – Vice President
Hans How is an impact investor at New Island Capital and works in service of a mission-driven portfolio that employs debt and equity investments focused on advancing positive social and environmental change.
Previously, Hans worked as an investor and developer at Equity Residential (NYSE: EQR), where he originated and executed $1.5B+ housing investments and developments for the largest apartment REIT. He started his career in real estate private equity at PGIM Real Estate, the $180B real estate investment business of Prudential Financial (NYSE: PRU).
Hans is passionate about immigrant rights, environmental sustainability, and social impact. He has been featured in The Daily Beast, The Bay Area Reporter, Teen Vogue, and other outlets. As a first generation college graduate, Hans earned a B.A. in Economics (Cum Laude) from Wesleyan University with a full scholarship from the Freeman Foundation, a philanthropic foundation established by the co-founder of American International Group.
