Brett is originally from the Philadelphia area in Pennsylvania, USA. Brett recently graduated from Villanova University’s Honors Program where they majored in philosophy and political science. While an undergraduate, Brett volunteered with the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania, where they researched and reviewed civil rights complaints with the legal team. Brett also led and helped launch Villanova’s chapter of One for the World, a nonprofit seeking to fight extreme poverty worldwide by funneling funds to the most effective charities. Currently, Brett works for the American Civil Liberties Union’s Voting Rights Project as a paralegal at their National Office in New York City. In the future, Brett plans to pursue law school and advocate for queer rights at the intersection of religious exemptions and LGBTQ equality.
