Annalisa Galgano, Research & Policy Analyst
Annalisa Galgano is a second-year Urban & Social Policy graduate student at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
Originally from Denver, Colorado, Annalisa enjoys biking, kayaking, and hiking. Annalisa earned her bachelor’s degree in 2017 from New York University Abu Dhabi, where she oriented her academics and activism around refugee policy and advocacy. Prior to studying at SIPA, Annalisa lived in Athens, Greece as a Fulbright Research Fellow, conducting field research on. the anarchist/refugee solidarity movement and participating in grassroots community projects. Her writing on refugee issues in Athens have been published in the International New York Times, Athens Live, and the NYUAD Journal of Social Sciences.
In her free time, Annalisa volunteers as a domestic and sexual violence crisis counselor in New York City hospital emergency departments.
