AsylumConnect Junior Board Chair Application

Join A Movement. 

AsylumConnect Junior Board members are young professionals who lend their own resources, networks and skills to support and promote our mission of providing the world’s first tech resource platform designed for those fleeing persecution due to sexual orientation or gender identity. 

In 2020, we launched our inaugural Junior Board in NYC of young professionals from McKinsey, Twitter, UN Women, Google, Mount Sinai Hospital, and more. We hope to replicate our Junior Board program to new cities across the country to build a national movement and mobilize thousands of young professionals who are passionate about LGBTQ+ and immigrant rights to action. Together, we can change the system.

Lead Your City in 2021. 

Junior Board Chairs play a critical role in our fundraising and event planning efforts, collaborate directly with AsylumConnect staff, and connect with other like-minded young professionals.  We are now accepting applications for Chairs to start Junior Boards in new cities across the country. To apply, please submit the application below.

Chair tasks and responsibilities include:

• In partnership with AsylumConnect staff, recruit at least 10 local members in your city 
• Available to lead 1-1.5 hour local Junior Board meetings during 2021 (January – December)
• Secure local space for monthly 1-1.5 hour local Junior Board meetings
• Facilitate Junior Board communication, including following up on individual and collective projects and member actions to ensure completion and accountability 
• Contribute at least 10 hours per month (this includes meeting attendance) to advancing AsylumConnect’s mission
• Lead the Junior Board in hosting local fundraisers and events 
• Meet or exceed the $1,000 annual membership dues requirement for all Junior Board members (members can make 2 payments of $500 or 10 monthly payments of $100; see our membership dues PDF for more information)
